Find the monthly average rate of change in price between Jund and September. Month price April (x=1) 114 may 108 june 87 july 100 august 95 september 112 october 93 november 86 december 64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

determine the change in price from month to month, add them all up and divide by 3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or would you only do sept - june//2 ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sept + june//2 maybe....dunno, its unclear to me what its asking for... and average chnage from month to month to month or the average change from june to sept...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are asking for the monthly average rate of change in price between Ju nd and September

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean june and september

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if we just hit june and sept we get: 87+122//2 209/2 = $104.50 as the avergare rate of change; but that sounds odd.... --------------------------- 122 - 87 = $35 is the difference between the 2 months, but that aint no average..... ---------------------------- looks like we have to add up all the changes and divide by the number of months..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

87 -> 100 = +13 100 -> 95 = -5 95 -> 112 = +17 17+13-5 = 25/3 = $8 + $1/3 would be the avergare rate of change i think....
