If a and b are positive integers and [a^(1/2)]x[b^(1/3)]=432.... What is the value of ab?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've gotten to: √a 3√b = 6√432 (those are cube roots and such)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

resolve 432 into its prime factors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

432=2*2*2*2*3*3*3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there that was fast you get 2^4*3^3 or more conveniently 4^2*3^3 so a=4 and b=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait scratch that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no that's right! thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok whatever

Lolol
