To solve a problem like this one, take the implied decimal point in the given percentage and move it two places to the left. For instance what is 100% of 55? It is 1.00 of (times) 55. 200% of 55 is 2.00 times 55 or 110. In this problem the percentage is given as 215.4% and in this case decimal point is explicit. Moving the decimal point in frontof the 4, two places to the left yields the decimal number 2.154 which when multiplied with 55 gives 118.47 .
