Can Anyone recommend a python site for beginners ??
The MIT course is a good place to start.
how do i follow along im not to familiar with it??
Get Gtalk its faster :) that way we can exchange info faster :)
You go at your own pace? there are no dates where anything is due.
well can you give me some links ? and alittle info on how to start with the course :)
http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-00-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-fall-2008/ and you start by watching the first lecture.
Is there google talk for ubuntu?
Im sure theres a client in the synapticpkg
i dualboot ubuntu11.4 and win7 :)
from the looks of it theres a gtalk gadget inside the chrome browser.. but im sure that you can use empathy or pidgin :) im sure both those chat clients support gtalk :)
Ok I dualboot too but I don't wanna have to switch just to chat with you that'd be annoying.
lol . ubuntu has pidgin and in pidgin u can choose to use gtalk http://www.blog.highub.com/linux/install-and-use-google-talk-to-chat-on-ubuntu/
I got it whats your email again

do i need to know math to program??
only simple math :) not calculus .lol
stuff like algebra right??? if so u know any good site that i can learn , im very rusty
No sorry and Algebra covers the majority of programming but calculus is necessary in some parts of programming too.
from what i know the really hard stuff like cryptography and 3D games do require more math knowledge but you can also make simple programs with very little math know how :)
well thanks. will google learning math, think i need that stuff
eux when I tried adding u on empathy (gtalk) it put a question mark next to your name and when I sent message it said you were offline
nice one eux, thanks looks complete
do you know what you want to program ? games . websites.apps.?
Games, my main interest
oh cool :) same here . are you completely new to programing?
totally, never programmed b4, i think it a cool art
oh than i think you might want to start with python :)
from what i hear C++ is the best to program games in.:)
ya, i heard python was easy, to learn but also heard i had to know algebra
well yeah for games but you can always start small :) heres a link to simple python games. http://www.pygame.org/news.html
I think almost all programming languages you need to know except text base languages like html, (correct me if I'm wrong) I'm not 100% sure html is purely text base but I believe so.
need to know algebra*
c++ is a killer, very hard to grasp, but i will start with that purplemath site see where it takes me
Yeah ive read a couple articles on C++ there are some good books but if game programing is what you wanna do then it be best review your algebra :) .
thanx guys for the pointer
Np :) i think us programing beginners should stay connected. i took an interest in python last year but ive taken a deeper interest in it this year. :)

You should start by getting some books, then come in here whenever you're stuck, or just want to chat, you'll have no worries.
