six numbers that have a range of six and a mean of six?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3,4,5,6,7,8,9 added together = 42/7 gives avg of 6 max - min (9-3) gives u range of 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sry i did 7 numbers then idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's ok...I'm just trying to figure out an easy way to find out what the numbers are with out starting a 1 and adding till I get the right answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got an answer but it is not integers. is that ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ummm not sure but what to do you have...I haven't done this since high school and now I am trying to help my son

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i messed up, it all works but i was 1 off on the range, this seems like it would be easier than this. i am still working on it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3,6,6,6,6,9 try that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's ok...I hate that they give you the means and you have to try to figure out what the numbers are

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you come up with those numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

educated guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i knew that the numbers had to be close to 6 becasue of the range, so i just brainstormed from there how to keep close to 6 and keep the average

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for taking the time to help...I appreciate it...I will continue with the rest of the homework and try to figure it out thanks again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya of course np
