Solve using the square root method. x2 - 16 = 0 I just learned all this is my lesson from online school however i didnt learn how to do this specific question... :P A. {-8, 8} B. {-4, 4} C. {8} D. {4}

OpenStudy (amistre64):

(x+4)(x-4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldn't this be the difference of two squares? if so the answer would be B. If you (x-4)(x+4) the middle numbers will cancell and leave you with (x^2-16)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its a difference of squares :) you have to be able to see them but its what happens when you multiply conjugates like: (x+4)(x-4)

ohhhhh wow thanx i probably just over thought it of course :P lol
