umm..usually by graphing it :) and finding the points of intersection.
It is the most unreliable way to get a good answer tho, but it gives you an idea on what a solution means.

nonono....they are parallel lines.... always sem to get the mixed ;)

5x -9y = -54
-5x +9y = 54 <- if we multiply this by -1 we get:
-1(5x -9y = -54) we are back to your same equation

the answer is either all points are solutions or no points :)

There are integer solutions:
x=9n, y=5n+6, and \[n \in \mathbb{Z}\]

before yo graphng it you have to change it to y inetersept form then make a atable of values then you get your corrdintaes together then you graph
