Square pyramid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you trying to find the volume? area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

volume

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok you know the volume of a cube right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B*H

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah so you know this has to be less than that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because if you look at the picture it had less volume of a cube

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that mean i have mulitly mxm right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know how to do integrals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Calc II?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what integrals mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you taking calculus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i take geomety right now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so its hard to explain how to get the volime but if you know the volume of a cube is BH so a pyramid with the same height and same volume of the cube has to have less volume right? so the volume of a pyramid is V= 1/3 * B *H

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i use mXm right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Base is m* m right? height is m right? so volume is 1/3 * m * m * m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/3*m3 but how to do with 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it ok with that

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i cant tell what the "measurements" are... its to small of a pic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

two base are m and height is m

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then you want the volume right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

m*m*m ------- is the best you get from it then 3 m^3 ---- 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m^3 ---- 3 is the answer because i put 3m^3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its not 3 times the area :) its 1/3. m^3 ---- 3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if theres an option for (1/3) m^3 take it ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank
