Hey im having a lot of trouble with this problem: Let R be the region enclosed by y= square root of (x-1), the vertical line x=10, and the x-axis. Find the volume of the solid generated when R is revolved about the horizontal line y=3

You're finding the area of a bunch of circles, each with a radius of sqrt(x-1). You then square this and multiply it by pi to find the area of the circle. You can integrate this expression from the appropriate limits in order to find the area of the shape.
