Can someone help with Graphing Quadratic Functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi will i help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DO you have an example?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i have a few i need help with if u don't mind

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I can definitely try:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=2x^2-8x+7 i have to find the axis of symmetry the coordinates of the vertex and tell whether the vertex is a maximum or a minimum

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm ok I'm not sure I can give you the best explanation or even the right answer... I can't remember how to do this exactly... If I were you I would take the actual problem and repost it.... I'm super sorry just don't want to steer you wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats fine thanks away a least u where honest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I know how it is when someone trys to help you and has it all wrong or is just making it up don't want to waste your time or be the cause of you not getting the correct answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The graph will be symmetrical about the line through its vertex and it's focal point.

often it helps to find the x intercept, but in this case there aren't any. So just complete the square and get it to be a translation of y = x^2.
