What is the difference between factoring polynomials and factoring polynomials completely?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

to factor completely is to take it all the way to its starting point. to factor is jsut to do part of it and leave it that way

amistre 64 need you when you're done...gas tank prob again : )

OpenStudy (amistre64):

did you check the carburator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i got no idea how to get back to where tha twas :)

Basically, normal people factor them, whereas I factor them completely.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wut do you mean take it all the way... like wut would an answer look like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From a quick google, it just seems to be normal factorising :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well factoring polynomials allows you to find the roots, most polynomials are difficult to factor to the degree 1 but Gauss's theorem explains that you can always factor the polynomial to the 1st degree
