Find the points of inflection. f(x) = 5x3 + 2x + 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You start by taking the first derivative. \[f{\prime}(x)=15x ^{2}+2\] Then you solve it for zero. x^2=-2/15 Then your answers should be points of inflection.

Isn't the first derivative 30x? so the point would be zero?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. You take the power off each x value and multiply it by the coefficient of x. Then you have to reduce the power of x by 1. Any constant just disappears
