need help with steps to solve x and y of this problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(2x+3i)-(6+2yi)=5-3i\]

I have the answers, x=11 over 2, and y=3..I just am not sure of the steps to get there.

my computer may be frozen.. unless you've been typing for like 10 m in?

Is there a second equation? I don't see how you can solve explicitly for x and y with just one equation .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the only one they gave me. and the answers were listed at the back of the book. hmm. idk

Could you write the complete question. Using only this equation, you can only find x in terms of y or y in terms of x.
