5x-2y=10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you have to do with it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the x an y intercepts

OpenStudy (anonymous):

change it to the y=mx+b form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, the x-intercept is the point where the plot cuts the x-axis. This occurs when y=0. So the x-intercept is given by 5x -2(0) = 10 so that x = 10/5 = 2 i.e. x-intercept occurs when x=2. The y-intercept is found for x=0. Here, 5(0)-2y=10 so that y = 10/(-2) = -5. Your y-intercept is at y=-5.

myininaya (myininaya):

to find xintercept set y=0 solve for x to find yintercept set x=0 solve for y
