The cumulative number of car accidents from 2000 to 2010 can be modeled by the quadratic expression , C=-26^2 + 676x + 7618 , where x=1 corresponds to 2000, x=2 corresponds to 2001, and so on. Find the number of cumulative car accidents in 2004 is ? The number of car accidents reached 9900 in the year?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just replace the x with 5 C= -26^2+676 * 5 + 7618

Ah I see now, thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem ^^ you know why you have to put in 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes that is where the varible has to substitute for the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean the coherence: 2000, x=1 2001, x=2 ... 2004, x=5 that's what i meant ;D

Yes:)
