can someone please help me with this proportion 55/x = 5/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cross multiply like we did earlier. 55 5 -- = --- x 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but it hard

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did 55 times 6 and got 330

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good so 330 = 5x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but how did u get 5x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x = 330 to get x by itself you divide by 5 5x = 330 -- ---- 5 5 the 5's cancel and you get x = 66 (330/5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i wrote down ur example so hopefully i get it now thank u once again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):
