Anyone taking python course interested in joining a study group. I am in lecture (5) but i am a fresh beginner, never done programming before.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Count me in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

great...can we make any study group or use chat here or something easier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess sharing gtalk ids would be good... that way we can connect to each other even when we aren't visiting this site. What do u say...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i agree , no problem...give me yours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ben.hammersky@gmail.com

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i added you...please anyone interested in a group study add your email. Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yaa people this a good idea.... that way we can atleast share the names of resources that can help one further... saves a lot of searching time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i hope so then come join us

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'd like in. my Email address is:smb.accounting10@yahoo.com

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats great

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i added you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would like to join the group, but i don't know very much about python... etaylorsee@gmail.com

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem...we are all starting here and thats the aim to start studying together and help each other. Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are welcome. I added you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm somewhat familiar with the google groups but i don't understand where u added me to on here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i added you to gtalk til we a make a group.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a good idea for google group ... i was just talking about gtalk but google group is better.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not familiar with gtalk. i just play it by ear, and hopefully understand where y'all are at the moment. just reading the questions and replies is very helpful for me. i definitely don't know the things most of you know. but one day at a time, lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yaa rania.. i also think we should make a google group. its better than gtalk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm just all over the internet and trying to learn, perhaps even master something, one day... I haven't even start this course yet. for that matter i haven't even listened to a complete lecture yet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i've downloaded all of the lectures though. but like i said, i have a lot of materials and perhaps too much because i don't complete anything. but that's my problem and i guess the wrong forum for talking about my issues, lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

google groups are pretty cool. i have seen on here that sometimes for some reason things get perhaps a little hosed up or something. i had a problem getting in today, but also i thought perhaps i should have signed out before, but then again that should make a difference...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually yesterday was my first day here...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i downloaded the material awhile ago but then was side tracked by harvard and stanford's online courses, they are pretty cool too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Count me in. I've just finished Lecture 1. Will have to catch up to meet your progress.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My email: wayne.loke@gmail.com

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Count me in, my e-mail is ziedfild@gmail.com

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey guys, first time here, im interested in joining as well, e-mail is commonzenpython@gmail.com

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm interested in this OpenCoursework course as well and a study group could never hurt! I've only just finished the first lecture, but do plan to continue. I also have a beginning programming book as part of the Head First series and it teaches Python, too! My Gmail is fortotalanonymity@gmail.com. Also, Google Docs could serve as a good place for people to make notes, edit, add comments, et cetera as part of this study group. (Sorry for text wall.)

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

I'm well up for this, count me in please. carl.input@gmail.com Nice one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

skiloo.y@gmail.com I'm in lecture 5 too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

How will this work exactly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we can send each others challenges, we can send questions directly or recommend sites or books , any other suggestions ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about sharing solutions of problems?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes sure. of course

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

Can we not do that here? The more we can keep people together here the better. Organise stuff by email, but post challenges here for everyone to try out. I like the idea, but on reflection, I'm just concerned about having to navigate multiple sites to get on top of stuff.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with you but i find it difficult to search in here and there is no ctr(f) and no title, i sometimes find it difficult to go to older posts or to find an answer to a specific problem set, maybe i am still new to the site, maybe. ok lets see what others think. Thanks a lot

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

We should see if we can come up with a feature for doing all this that can be easily implemented in the site, The guys who run it seem to take feedback seriously and are making frequent improvements. I think they see the site as evolving.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that will be great and time saving as well :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if i hadn't put MIT in my Outlook email, i wouldn't have known that anyone replied. the gmail seems to work better that hotmail when it comes to getting the mail when you make a rule in Outlook, but it's still not perfect, but I see fragmented replies in the Outlook. I had almost given up on this site, but maybe it was only down, or out momentarily, well it was more than a moment though. That's a good idea to find some kids stuff too. yeah there are a lot of pirate sites around, but true it is illegal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes this site needs some working to make it little bit more helpful :D yea i tried kids stuff and its time for illegal stuff :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just found out that I have 2 profiles in Open Study with the same user name. One is through Facebook and the other by a new account. I will need to close one of them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, I just saw this, how do I join this group cause I'm so lost...you young kids are worlds ahead of someone that wrote code last in DOS! :) carlsmith has been an awesome help, but can use all the help I can get!
