If the probability of rain today is 25%, what is the probability that it will not rain today?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

in florida that means that it WILL rain ;)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

75% is my guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

These two events are complimentary. So P(not rain)=1-P(will rain)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it rains in the front of the hose, but not in the back...so Id beg to differ with that Xavier

OpenStudy (amistre64):

The sum of the probabilities for all outcomes in the sample space must add to 1. If there are only two outcomes (it rains or it doesn't) Then the probability of either of them is 1- (the probability of the other).

OpenStudy (amistre64):

25% of the yard is wet; and 75% is dry ;)
