Can someone show me how to set up this problem. the function W(d) = 0.112d approximates the `amount, in centimeters, of water that results from d cm, 35 cm, and 66 cm 10 cm of snow melting produces ____ cm of water

OpenStudy (amistre64):

cant really make sense of the question... is d = 10?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

.112(10) = 1.12 but i dont know if thats what they want lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think d =0.112d

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its a linear function; starts at zero and climbs at a rate of .112 with respect to d

OpenStudy (amistre64):

35 and 66 ...got no idea what to do with those..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

did you leave anything out that might be relevant on accdennt?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the only way d = .112d if if d = 0 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

given the function described by g(x)=6x, find each of the following g(-12) g(16) g(30)

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

W(d) = 0.112d water is output, d is amount of snow 10 cm of snow is our input W(10) = 0.112*10 W(10) = 1.12 so it produces 1.12 cm of water
