Each of 5-15 is written on a sheet of paper. the eleven sheets of paper are placed in a basket. If 1 of these eleven sheets of paper are selected from a basket , without replacement, find probability that both are less then 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How many of the numbers are less than 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No... I am asking you, how many of the numbers are less than 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5 are less then 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry tired

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good so on the first draw 5 out of the 11 are less than 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got that far

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now you assume that you drew out one of the numbers less than 10 and it says you do not replace it... so it is like laying it aside.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes so the next would be 4 out of 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you have only 4 left that are less than 10 and you have only 10 sheets left to draw from.. 4/10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You multiply those together. 5 4 -- * -- 11 10 20 -- 110 2 -- 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you
