i don't get how to do negative exponents in an operation. Please help!!

well... negative exponents means that it is in the denominator, so you are dividing. So it will be x^a * x^-b = x^(a-b) Think of it as the addition rule, but this times you are adding negative numbers.

so if an equation is three to the -3 power it would be -1/9???
