what does the x stand for in 6+x-2.5=10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you asking how to solve this? x in this case is a number, you need to find.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's a variable you need to solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to add 2.5 on both sides to cancel out the 2.5, then you have 6+x=12.5 then minus 6 on both sides b/c you want to get the variable alone then you subtract 12.5 w/6 and you get 6.5, in order to check your work you need to plug in 6.5 for x and bam you solve and get 10 hope that helped, do you need a picture ?
