I am solving rational equations. The equation is: 3x 2x 3 --- + --- = --- 4 9 4 These are more easily solved if I eliminate the fraction first. I can eliminate the fractions by multiplying each side of the equation by the LCD. The LCD of 4 and 9 is 36. The denominator of the first part of the equation, 4, goes into 36 9 times. 9 X 3x is 27x. I have now eliminated the first fraction in the equation, turning it into 27x. I have repeated this process for the other two fractions and have come up with this equation: 27x + 8x = 27 After combining like terms I ge
