I just LOVE the medal and achievement system :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

however, don't you think that it would be much better if you would make the medals and achievements global, and NOT just for a single study group?

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Hm... Why do you say that? Medals in particular are, to us, a measure of how competent/helpful you are in a given study group. This means that when someone sees an answer by you, it can be considered more or less trustworthy based on that. They lost that value if they are global. We do keep a global count of both, though, which you can see if you go to your profile.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Also, we're delighted to hear how much you like medals/achievements :) We love them too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I like them because fans aren't all that important (to me anyway) and this way the medals are a way of knowing how and if your info was helpful to the person asking the question

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

You got it! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks :):)

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

I like medals too, they're pretty cool. Fans are ok, but medals is medals.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright, I get the point now :)
