If a rectangle has area 56.3cm^2, then its length is multiplied by 4 and its width is divided by 2, what is the new area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let l = length let w = width lw = 56.3 4l * w/2 so just multiply original area by 4 and divide by 2 56.3 * 4 / 2 = 112.6 cm^2
