The first example is a rational equation. Just seems like the question is a little vague.

That is what I thought as well....I think I have answered it now just need to figure out how to get an example together...I am so confused even looking at the site you gave me...I am so not a math person at all...I however am doing pretty good, just make things harder for myself.
