Does anyone else think that "Recitations" should be added to the "Home" page for 6.0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, but it's probably not going to happen for a while

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

Can I ask, what are the Recitations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Some sort of "extra" review class, or something, that MIT students have on Fridays I think

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

Ah, nice one flawz. I didn't know if I was missing something important there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, knew i was missing something here, lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from Wikipedia: "A recitation is a presentation made by a student to demonstrate knowledge of a subject or to provide instruction to others. In some academic institutions the term is used for a presentation by a teaching assistant (TA) or instructor, under the guidance of a senior faculty, that supplements course materials. In recitations that supplement lectures, the leader will often review the lecture, expand on the concepts, and carry on a discussion with the students"

there are a number of the online courses that have "recitations" http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-001-structure-and-interpretation-of-computer-programs-spring-2005/
