OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i right that as a fraction though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no need to do that dear, all you have to do is multiply (29/100)(48/1) like this:\[\frac{29}{100} \times \frac{48}{1}\] multiply the numerator with numerator and denominator with denominator to keep it as fraction :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it? ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but my caluclator wonmt work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do it by hand ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

29x48 ------ 100 x 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

29 x 48 _____

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know this way? it's what we took in grade 3 and 4 ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is 1392

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excellent so this is divided by 100 ^_^ ta da we have a fraction ~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now, let's check if we can simplify both the numerator and denominator, ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i got 1392

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I know, now we must simplify the fraction right ^_^ to its simplest form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright, let's start with the smallest of all , let's try to divide the numerator and denominator by 2, check :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1392 divided by 2? ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

696

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excellent, what about 100 divided by 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good,so now we got our big big fraction a bit smaller, so what is our new fraction? ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

696 ---- 50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excellent, so now, let's check again, can we still simplify it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is 348 ---- 25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excellent! that's it, can we simplify it any further?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well done, dum ^_^ you deserve a medal for your hard work~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

remember, numerator x numerator and denominator x denominator ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
