an=(n-1)!/n^2,1≤n≤5

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

just plug in the numbers 1 thru 5 for n to get the sequence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know but im gettin weird answers so i know im doin it wrong

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

ok are you doing the factorials correctly 3! = 3*2*1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example, a1= 2, a2= 24, a3=181440 now i know thats wrong

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

a1 = (1-1)!/1^2 a1 = 0!/1 0! = 1 a1 = 1

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

a2 = (2-1)!/2^2 a2 = 1!/4 1! = 1 a2 = 1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so a3= 2/9 ???

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yes good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n a4= 3/16, and a5=4/25 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no thats wrong...

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

a4 = 3*2*1/16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so a4=6/16 ???

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yes but remember to reduce

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so a4=3/8, ans a5=24/25 ???

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

correct

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

! means multiply every number til you get to one :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u possibly help me with another problem? this one i dont get because it is a work problem...

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you i just posted it
