How do you verify the identity for tanX+cotX/tanXcotX=tanY+cotX

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that one on the right side supposed to be TanX?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the left side, you can split that fraction into TanX/(TanXCotX) + cotX/(tanXcotX) Then you cancel the numerator on each with the denominator and end up with 1/cotX + 1/tanX

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/cotX is the same thing as tanX, so when you add those together, you get 1. On the right side, the cotX is the same thing as 1/tanX, so you add those together to get 1 as well.
