and I was told the answer should be $$\sqrt{80} $$ and$$-\sqrt{80}$$  but my online assignment isn't letting me type it in this format. Anyone have any idea what the correction would be?

Honestly, they're probably not asking for the negative one if it's only one answer. Try putting in 8.944. That's the value of sqrt(80).

add 80 to the other side to get
$$y ^{2}=80$$

then get y alone by squarerooting.
$$\sqrt{80} can be positive or negative$$

it's 2 different boxes for the answers. hmm. yeah. idk why it's not working but i'll maybe just move on to the next. Thanks
