Most of the problems on the Practice Problems tab come from previous years' exams, in-class problems, etc. They are intended to give you an idea of what kinds of exam questions you might expect me to write. They are not intended to replace doing the textbook problems!

Calico cats are colored Black (B) and Orange (O) because the genes for color are located on the X chromosomes. Female cats can receive two of these genes (BO) and be calico in color. Male cats only have one X chromosome, they are XY. Because of this, males can only be black(B) or orange(O), but not calico (BO)
