Need help finding the vertex

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y=(x-4)^{2}+5\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertex of a parabola is \[x = -\frac{b}{2a}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does a=1 b=4 and c=5 or is there just no c so i substitute with 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the vertex is given to you in that form the x is shifted by 4 and y by 5 so the vertex would be (4, 5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh ok. thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):
