OpenStudy (anonymous):
you mean bsae 2 right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x= -1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yeah base 2. so 2^x=4/8
OpenStudy (anonymous):

2^(x) = 1/2
2^x = 2^(-1)

x=-1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
awww....right, 2 is base

just wondering, you seem like a uni maths student, and you dont know how to explain that the answer is -1 without a calculator
OpenStudy (anonymous):
lol,I'm an IT student ^_^ and I'm trying my best
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I'm sorry if I wasn't able to explain this one though :(
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no I dont care , just seemed a little strange
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I know, it's that simple that I can't explain it, I know >_< it happens to me alot

I should have done maths degree , some of the elec engineering subjects I do are kinda hard , but maths is just maths , reckon I could have got better marks at it.
Only problem is that a maths degree is kinda useless for getting a job, plus it would get boring after a while
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yep, that's why I entered IT, I love maths + all sorts of sciences, but I need a good job
OpenStudy (anonymous):
IT, do you have to do computer programming?, I had to do two semesters of first year programming in C, wasnt very fun and I didnt get a very good mark :|

\[log_2 \frac{4}{8} = log_2 4 - log_2 8 = log_2 2^2 - log_2 2^3 = 2-3 = -1 \]
Is another way you can solve it.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
mathematician cant a good job :P
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh don't worry abt what he said or what I have said, just keep doing what you love and everything will be fine in the end ^_^

I'm a CS major, so I've done C, C++, Java, and ASM ;)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I dont know, just that I wanna build stuff and be useful to society , one day many years fromnow everyone will remember me because of some great electrical invention :P

wow o_o I heard C is hard, but since I'll be majoring in Computer engineering, I was told that we have to learn C
OpenStudy (anonymous):
lol polpak :) that's a nice dream

Yeah, C is used a lot for embedded hardware.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i need to learn MATLAB

it would be easier for a engineer to swap with a mathematician, than it would for a mathematician to swap with an engineer.
For starters engineering involves group work and gets quite stressful at times, whereas maths is all independant
OpenStudy (anonymous):
mathematicans can do stuff engineers can't do , engineers can do stuff mathematicans can't do, CS majors can do stuff engineers can't do and so on ~
