just take out the real value signs, leaving you with 2x = 6, and solve, giving you x = 3
|2x+3|=5?
same idea. take out the absolute value signs, giving you 2x + 3 = 5. then solve. you get 2x = 2, then x = 1
y r u omitting the negative part?
how did u get 2 and 1?

|2x+3|=5 +/-(2x+3)|=5 2x+3=5 or -(2x+3)=5
2x=5-3 2x=2 x=2/2=2 2x+3=-5 2x=-5-3 2x=-8 x=-4
