The volume of any pyramid is 1/3 x (base) x (perpendicular height). Here, the base is \[\frac{1}{2}(12+20)h=11h\]from area of trapezoid, and so we have from the volume formula,\[V=\frac{1}{3}(11h)24=88h\]But V = 896 cm^3, so\[896=88h \rightarrow h=\frac{896}{88}=10\frac{2}{11}cm\]
