-7x is more then 1/15 it says use multiplication princple. how do i solve it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it negative 105?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would look like x<-105??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You create an inequality and solve. -7x>(1/15) divide by -7, and when you divide across an inequality with a negative, you must switch the direction of the sign, so X<(1/15)(-1/7) X<(-1/105) So your answer is, x is less than -1/105.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x<-1/105

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so when i type it in should i type it as a fraction or i can just type < -105

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah it must be a fraction or the original expression is not true. If you substitute -105 in the first equation, it is not true. But if you substitute -1/105, it will be true, so it must be a the fraction.
