I need help check my answer, just write the equation ,don't have to solve . http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n608/nancylam67/Page322.jpg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(5x \times (3x + 5)) \div 2\]

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

hmm which triangle do they want for area? and is the 3x+5 only the length of the pink shaded triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i assumed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need to find the erea of shaded

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, thats what i gave you, although with the information given you can't find the area of anything else.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it 2 triangle is the same?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does'n say 2 triangle the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the picture dosen't say 2triangle the same segment, I don't know

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

no i was wrong sorry i misinterpreted the figure...they were just showing what the height was, i thought it was a triangle inside of another triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Me? I thought the dotted lines of the figure where just there to make it more lear that its a right angle. no matter what triangle you think it is, the information provided only gives you enough to find the area of one triangle, the formula is always the same though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x+5 is the base of the shaded only ,or the base segment of both triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is only the shaded segment, but the area you can work out remains the same either way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank both
