Solve for x,y and z using the addition method: -3x+4y-z=-7 -x+2y+2z=-2 2x-2y-3z=-1

okay, simple. first multiply equation (ii) by 3 and subtract it from equation (i), then multiply equation first by 2 and equation (iii) by 2 and add them. you'll get two new equations in y and z which you can solve easily. substitute the value of y and z in any of the three equation to get the value of x.
