****************For a 7 grader*************** How do you find slope and y-intercept from a graph and a equation????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its very easy poppreet. but before i just want to know, where ya from??? maybe i am going a little high standard concept cause i don't know how much you have covered in you syllabus till now. to find slope and intercept, first convert the equation in the form y = m.x + c where m = slope and c is the y intercept from graph, take any two known points on the line. from one point draw a horizontal line and from another point draw a vertical line so that both the line can meet at any point. now you'll have a right angle triangle. from that triangle find tan A, this tan A is the slope of the line. and you will notice y intercept directly by seeing through the graph. the point where the line crosses the y axis. the ordinate of that point will give you the y intercept. if you feel any difficulty in understanding concepts then ping me at http://www.chatindia.co.in
