Using the diagram below, determine the length of AB if ABC ADE, AD = 4, AE = 5, and AC = 7.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ABC congruent with ADE? AD/AE = AB/AC 4/5 = AB/7 AB = 28/5 = 5.6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as ABC and ADE are similar triangles so their sides will be proportional.. so, AD/AE=AB/AC =>4/5=AB/7 therefore, AB=28/5=5.6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um well, Not all that much. I get all of it up to 28/5=5.6
