i am getting confused with integrating and differentiating :S how can i tell the difference and what do they find? and what is a second derivative ?
the derivative tells you how the graph behave when you look real close at it. so close that it straightens out
you can see the slope of a point along a curve ith the 1st derivative
the 2nd derivatie shows you how the graph is bending..concavity
so is the first the gradient? and is the second one for stationary points?
derivatives are concrete, attainable, exact.... integrals are an art, a feeling, a sense.....
whats a concavity?
the second tells us more information about the equation... tha the 1st cant.
think of concavity like a bowl sitting on the window sill; it is concave up.....or CAVE opens upward
concavity tells us how the graph opens up or down
gradient is a term use with vectors..... that i know of
integration is adding up alot of small parts; its the opposite of derivatives. integration takes all the small derivative bits and adds them together to get a whole again
ur answers are in detail and stuff but not really what im after :S sorry
'sok :)
