add first eq and second: 8x+ 0 =16 solve for x (divide both sides by 8): x=2 substitute value of x in any given eq ( let say first one): 3*2-2y=12 subtract 6 to both sides of equation: -2y=6 divide both sides by (-2): y=-3 you solution: x=2, y=-3
