The equation h=-16t²+56t models the height (h) in feet of a golf ball (t) seconds after it was hit what do i do next a find the values of t for which h=0 or B when the ball 40 ft above the ground?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just plug in 0 and 40. then you'll find t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, plug those values for h. so 0=-16t^2+56t 40=-16t^2+56t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i need to know what to do next i have two choices (A) find the values of t for which h=0 or (B) when the ball 40 ft above the ground?

As suggested by ohcluap above, you get two quadratic equations Solving them will give you values of t Ignore negative value to t as time cannot be negative

Hope that clears it up..........
