(m^-5)^10????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/(m^50)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there any extra work? how did u get this??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-5*10=-50 so m^-50 = 1/(m^50)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The rule for exponents is \[[a ^{m}]^{n} = a ^{mn}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so\[[m ^{-5}]^{10} = m ^{-5 x 10} = m ^{-50}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Further \[a ^{-m} = 1/a ^{m}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so \[m ^{-50} = 1/m ^{50}\]

Hope this really clears it!!!
