Question

Anyone good with computers here? My computers hard drive is mess up and i need to access my files in a free manner :( I lost everything to study for finals on that computer!!

Before starting, shut down your PC and restart it. It is not necessary to log into your network to perform these steps. When your PC has completely restarted, close any programs that run automatically, such as Outlook or Yahoo Instant Messenger.

Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and choose your Task List. End Task on everything that appears EXCEPT Explorer and Systray. Make sure nothing is listed in the Applications tab. Go to the Processes tab and End Task on any items you recognize, such as RealPlayer, Reminders, etc.

Temporarily disable your screensaver if you use one.

My computer wont even let me get that far! Everytime i would log into my account in my windows xp computer ( ik very old crappy computer ^^) it would act like its loading then automatically restart. Do you have any suggestions now? :)

Did you download the image and brun it on a CD? (it's easier to do it this way, then to figure out whats wrong with your windows-setup)...

xD haha! i think u could do it :) lol all she is probably going to do is tell you what happened and what the computer is doing rite now... and all you have to do is ask her if like she has a CD that we could burn the image onto and stuff and walk her through it.. :) basically acting like u have no idea who i am. and ur just here to help me with my computer... xD
