Alice is planning her garden in a square plot 6'X6'. She wants to plant pepper plants on foot apart, in rows that are also one foot apart. She leaves a border one foot from each edge of the plot. How many pepper plants can she plant?

Draw a 6x6 grid and count all the coordinates of intersection not on the border. There should be 5 lines on the interior, not including the 2 border lines, which implies the answer is 5 * 5 = 25.

I drew the 6x6 and put the boarder in so that is only 4*4 left and they have to b in rows one foot apart and each plant is one foot apart.

The intersection points occur on the lines though, not inside the boxes. You should count every time the lines cross.

you take a hot needle and attempt to swollow it and then when you puke blood your blood with show you the answer...
