f(x)=10-3(2x-4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)=22-6x

myininaya (myininaya):

its a line its a function it has a negative slope what do you want to know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)=f(-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(-3)=40

myininaya (myininaya):

10-3(2x-4)=10-3(2*(-3)-4) 10-6x+12=10-3(-6-4) -6x+22=10-3(-10) -6x+22=10+30 -6x+22=40 -6x=40-22 -6x=18 x=-3

myininaya (myininaya):

which makes since sense it is a line lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry is mine skipping too many steps?

myininaya (myininaya):

i assumed she/he wanted me to solve for x of the equation f(x)=f(-3) which is just simply x=-3 f(-3)=f(-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was solving for f(-3) because if they know that it is f(-3) then they already know that x=-3

myininaya (myininaya):

right! did you want f(-3) or did you want to know what x was?

myininaya (myininaya):

you probably wanted to know what f(-3) was if so just look at bishop's post

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. so as I said its f(-3)=40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right.
