Please help me to solve this equation : (2x^3+5x^2-22x+10)/(2x-3)
What are you solving for? When the expression equals 0?
They just ask to perform the indicated operations
x^2 + 4x - 5 Remainder -5
Could you please show me the step?
Do you know how to long divide?
no, i don't know how to do it
A long process... Here goes.
2x times what is 2x^3 ... the answer is x^2 so that is what you put up first. Once you put something on top, you multiply it by what is to the left of the 2x^3 you distribute to accomplish this. Then draw a line under what you just wrote. x^2 ----------------------- 2x - 3 |2x^3 + 5x^2 - 22x + 10 2x^3 - 3x^2 ------------
Then you change the signs on the bottom and add. And then bring down the next term. Start again... same steps.... 2x times what is 8x^2... answer 4x.. I will put that on top x^2 ----------------------- 2x - 3 |2x^3 + 5x^2 - 22x + 10 -2x^3 + 3x^2 ----------- 8x^2 - 22x
x^2 + 4x - 5 Remainder -5 ----------------------- 2x - 3 |2x^3 + 5x^2 - 22x + 10 -2x^3 + 3x^2 ----------- 8x^2 - 22x - 8x^2 + 12x ----------- -10x + 10 +10x - 15 --------- -5 2x times what is -10x... answer -5
I got it...thanks so much
