A computer company gives a discount of 10 % on a new piece of software. If it makes a profit of 7%, what percent does the marked price exceed the cost price?

say a product is $X 10% disc, that is they are selling it for $X * 90% even if the sell for $X * 90%, they are making 7% profit, i.e $X * 90% * 7% that means, their cost was only($X)- ( $X * 90% * 7%) but they marked it $X marked price exceed the cost price by....marked - cost price = $X - (($X)- ( $X * 90% * 7%)) = $X * 90% * 7% for $x all we need to find out how much is that for $100
